“I’m happier than I’ve ever been!”
That’s the response my husband gives people when he’s asked how his music career is going. The ironic thing? He doesn’t currently have much of a music career right now! He’s referring to the joy he feels in regards to being a husband and the father of two precious little girls! Am I blessed, or what?!
My husband, Adam Shick, moved to Nashville at the age of 19, with hopes of being ‘the next Vince Gill’. The industry has changed since then, and we’re not really satisfied with what Nashville considers to be hit songs right now. Throw in two young children to the mix, and a successful career as we once envisioned it, is pretty much out of the question. That’s fine with us, though, because God is moving so much in our lives! He’s shaping and molding us, and, ultimately, preparing us for something. I know he didn’t give Adam all his musical talent for no reason!
Adam is currently discerning his next step, which at some point will likely include an independent debut solo album filled with his own songs of real struggles and messages of hope set to melodies that you won’t be able to get out of your head (at least I can’t)! Adam is contemplating playing and speaking at men’s conferences. He is a convert to the Catholic faith and a passionate father!
We continue to seek what God wants us to do, while keeping our marriage and our children our main priority!

have you submitted his music to EWTN’s show Life on the Rock? IT might be a good fit!
Thanks for the suggestion! We still need to get his website up and running and get a CD together first, but will keep this in mind when the time comes.
Howdy! I’m down here in Nashville this week for the Immerse conference. One thing is for sure, us Catholics need to catch up on the music front!
Blessings on your family and Adam’s ministry.

Thanks! Looking forward to checking out your band site when it goes live!
Praise be to God for Catholics who want to contribute to mission of Mother Church by sharing their talent of music and art! Although I’ve been raised Catholic, I spent much time in protestant groups/churches with friends…and man, there seems to be so many more protestants who are devoted to making music a central part of the spiritual experience. So I am thankful that you and your husband are keeping the dream alive and following Christ’s call. God bless you!
Thanks for your encouragement!
